Peterborough/Gananoque, ON (September 27, 2016): Great Canadian Gaming Corporation (GCGC) is pleased to announce that the company’s Shorelines Casinos operations are welcoming Craig DeMarta to the position of Vice President, Operations East and celebrating Andy LaCroix’s new role as Executive Director, Stakeholder Relations, in the Province of Ontario.
DeMarta will now oversee and be responsible for the overall strategic direction, development and management of all Shorelines Casino locations which includes Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands, Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs and the future Shorelines Casino Belleville.
“I am looking forward to this chapter of my career as it will allow me to apply all of my gaming and hospitality experience to the facilities that have so much potential and an abundance of opportunities,” said DeMarta.
DeMarta began his gaming career in 1978 at Lake Tahoe, Nevada working for a Mobil Four Star and AAA Four Diamond property. His plan was to ski for the winter before seriously looking to develop his career path. Twenty-three years later, he had worked there in nearly every casino department including slots, table games, marketing, facilities, hotel operations and ultimately advanced to Director of Hotel Operations and Assistant General Manager. He spent the next six years with Station Casinos later moving to Laughlin, Nevada where he led the Tropicana Express Hotel & Casino and River Palms Casinos.
In his new senior role, LaCroix will be responsible for overall relationship management of external stakeholders in Ontario. His focus will be on cultivating strategic partnerships, helping drive growth and development while showcasing Great Canadian’s commitment and presence in the Ontario marketplace.
LaCroix has led the Ontario East gaming bundle since GCGC’s acquisition in January 2016 and has played an instrumental role in the transition process which started in September 2015. He has been part of GCGC’s leadership team since 2011 and has worked in various leadership positions and properties throughout his tenure. Andy is a highly engaged leader who brings a special brand of leadership and business acumen to our expanding operations in Ontario.
